We are so sorry for you. It depends on the symptoms whether patients choose to go to hospital. Especially the first stroke can be very frightening and for some it is the first time they hear of Dutchtype CAA. Hospitalisation is not always necessary, but it is good to contact emergency services if you are worried.

Poliklinische en klinische revalidatie

Voor patiënten met HCHWA-D zijn er twee vormen van revalidatie mogelijk na een hersenbloeding. 

Klinische revalidatie
U bent als patiënt in een revalidatiecentrum opgenomen.

Poliklinische revalidatie
U komt als patiënt op afspraak naar een revalidatiecentrum voor uw behandeling. De rest van de tijd bent u gewoon thuis.

Poliklinische revalidatie na een hersenbloeding is zinvol als u problemen heeft met uw:

1. mobiliteit: lopen binnen- of buitenshuis, traplopen, in en uit bed gaan, vervoer over langere afstanden
2. zelfverzorging: wassen, aankleden, eten, plassen en ontlasten
3. communicatie: lezen, schrijven en praten
4. dagbesteding: huishouden, koken, beroep, hobby’s
