Healthcare

The quality of healthcare for people with Dutchtype CAA differs greatly between countries. Because of the concentration of carriers in Katwijk and the area surrounding it in the Netherlands, the hospital in Leiden has a specialised healthcare centre, the CHA poli (this page is in Dutch).

Another large group of people with DCAA lives in Western Australia. They can contact neurologist Dan Clarke  when they have questions about genetics and/or symptoms.

The first person to talk to is always your GP. However, because of how rare DCAA is, they might have never heard of it. It might be hard to find proper healthcare like genetic counseling, psychological counseling, casemanagers, revalidation or a neurologist. Through this page your healthcare provider may learn more about (D)CAA.

If you have questions or worries you'd like to talk about, please do not hesitate to contact our CareCenter. We will try to help you to the best of our abilities or will try to find someone else who can.
